The Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions snap a 30-game losing streak by defeating Champion Christian (Ark.) 7-0 at home!! The Lady Lions wasted no time getting on the board, with a goal by Alexia Lorenzo-Pereira in the third minute of the game, assisted by Morakane Mokhothu. Cash Harris converted a penalty kick in the 12th minute, followed by an Ingrid Flores goal in the 31st to take a 3-0 lead into the half. At the half, the Lady Lions took 25 shots, 10 on target, while Layla Olson and the defense held the Lady Tigers shotless. The Lady Lions wasted little time in the second half adding on to their lead with an Isabel Croke goal at the 51st minute mark, with an assist from Morakane Mokhothu. Sophia Haddad de Lima was able to curve in a corner kick, followed by Isabel Croke's second goal of the game, this time assisted by Cash Harris. The final goal came from Morakane Mokhothu assisted by Isabel Croke. The game was stopped at the 70-minute mark, due to the Lady Tigers facing injuries from the heat and having no subs. The Lady Lions finished the game with 36 shots, 16 shots on goal, 11 corner kicks, while allowing 0 shots.
The Lady Lions will return to action on Monday at home against United States Sports University at 11 am.
