Box Score 2 HENDERSON, Tenn. - Britney Caldwell used her bat and her arm to lead the No. 23 Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions to a double-header sweep of Cumberland (Tenn.) University on Thursday at Associates Field.
In the first game, Caldwell set a new single-game school record for RBI, driving in six on a pair of three-run homeruns in FHU's 11-1 win. She also doubled and walked and scored three runs.
Brittany Steverson,
Brittany Bradford, and
Brittany Yates all went 2-for-3 and
Traci Gibbons added a two-run double as the Lady Lions pounded out 12 hits.
Tarrah Tucker (2-2) worked six innings in the win, allowing just two hits while striking out nine.
It was Caldwell's arm that did the damage in the second game as limited the Lady Bulldogs to four hits over seven innings. Bradford's two-run double in the third proved to be all the support Caldwell needed as FHU completed the sweep with a 2-0 win.
The Lady Lions got hits from each of their "Killer B's": Steverson, Bradford, Caldwell, and Yates.
Freed-Hardeman improves to 3-3 on the season with the wins.
