Box Score NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Britney Caldwell and
Brittany Steverson led a group of nine Freed-Hardeman players that were honored by the TranSouth Conference on the opening day of the conference tournament at Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University.
Caldwell and Steverson were both first-team all-conference selections while
Brittany Yates and
Betsy Pickler were named to the second team.
Steverson is hitting a team-high .379 entering the tournament with 47 hits, 20 runs and 13 RBI. Caldwell pulled double-duty at the plate and in the circle, hitting .281 with six home runs and 18 RBI while going 15-15 in the circle with an ERA of 3.10 and a career-high 130 strikeouts.
Yates hit .333 while tying for the team lead in home runs (6) and leading the squad in RBI (20). Pickler, who missed last season with an injury, batted .270 with nine RBI.

Audra Yopp were also honored as TranSouth Scholar Athletes. To receive the award, an athlete must be a junior or senior and have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
The Lady Lions open the tournament on Wednesday at 5:00 PM against Cumberland (Tenn.) University.
