Lady Lions open Gulf Coast Invitational with 8-3 win

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 GULF SHORES, Ala. - Tiffany Tucker allowed three runs on eight hits as the Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions began pool play at the Gulf Coast Invitational with an 8-3 win over Walsh (Ohio) University on Friday evening.

Tucker (3-5) struck out five in the win.

Sarah Elizabeth Cousar led off the game with a triple to extend her hitting streak to 13 games, and the Lady Lions (7-8) kept hitting in the first three innings to hold an 8-2 lead.

Mercedes Norfork also tripled for Freed-Hardeman.

FHU faces off against Brenau (Ga.) at 1:00 PM on Saturday followed by another matchup with Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College at 5:00 PM. It will be the third time this season that the Lady Lions and the Blue Raiders will have played against each other.
