HENDERSON, Tenn. - Sarah Elizabeth Cousar and Kamara Trice both tossed shutouts as the Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions swept a double-header from Stephens (Mo.) College on Sunday afternoon.

Both games were over after five innings via run rule as FHU took the first game, 10-0, and the second game, 8-0.

Cousar (8-7) held the Stars to three hits while walking none and striking out 11 in the opener while FHU (13-12, 11-1) scored five runs in the third and fourth innings to jump to the big lead. Cousar, Kohnley Wade and Allie Carpenter all had two hits in the first game while Trice and Bo Sullivan both had three RBIs.

The Lady Lions jumped ahead earlier in game two with four runs in the first inning and continued to roll as Trice (5-1) allowed only three hits on the day. FHU added two runs in the second and scored again in the third and fifth innings.

Six of Freed-Hardeman's 12 hits in game two went for extra bases, two of which belonged to Trice with a double and a triple. Sullivan went a perfect 3-for-3 while Katie Sholl and Trice both had two hits.

FHU returns to action on Tuesday with a non-conference double-header at Cumberland (Tenn.) University at 2:00 PM.
