SETTING THE STAGE

FHU (18-10, 10-4 AMC) enters today's match-up coming off two losses at Missouri Baptist University (17-13, 6-2 AMC) on Saturday.

Despite pounding out 12 hits in the opening game, the Lady Lions could not get enough runs across the plate as they fell 3-2 in the series opener and 2-1 in the nightcap.

Makenzie Prince suffered the loss in the opening game after working six innings and giving up three earned runs and five hits. Prince failed to reach the solid numbers she has produced all season long as she struck out just one batter in the loss.

Despite the loss, Allie Carpenter led the Lady Lions at the plate as she went 3-for-4 with an RBI while Katie Sholl went a perfect 3-for-3.

The Lady Lions continued their strong play in the nightcap, but once again suffered the loss by just one run as they fell 2-1 to the Spartans. Mallory Spurlock took the loss in the game despite working six solid innings and striking out six while allowing just six hits.

Caitlyn Carter led the Lady Lions at the plate in the nightcap as she went 3-for-4 and contributed to three of FHU's six hits in the game. However, Carter was the only FHU player to produce a multi-hit game as FHU struggled to find momentum at the plate, resulting in the 2-1 loss.
