ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The American Midwest Conference (AMC) announced Tuesday that FHU Head Coach Todd Humphry was named the AMC Coach of the Year while five Lady Lions players earned All-Conference honors.

Humphry had an incredible year at the helm of the Lady Lion softball program, as he led his team to a 30-11 season record, including an impressive 22-2 mark in conference play. Under his direction, the Lady Lions also captured the school's first-ever regular season Conference Championship at the conclusion of the 2018 season.

The Lady Lions were also represented well in the All-Conference awards, as Caitlyn Carter, Makenzie Prince and Annalise Jarnagin took home First-Team All-Conference honors while Emily Bombard and Mallory Spurlock were named to the 2nd-Team All-Conference squad.

Carter makes her third appearance on the First-Team All-Conference squad, as she had another solid year at the plate for the Lady Lions. Throughout the 2018 season, Carter hit an impressive .472 and compiled 58 hits, which included three doubles and and five triples in the leadoff spot. During Carter's 2016 campaign, she was named the AMC Player of the Year while being a First-Team selection in each of the last three seasons.

Makenzie Prince also makes her third appearance on the First-Team All-Conference squad after dominating in the circle once again in 2018. After being named the AMC Newcomer of the Year in 2016, Prince has never looked back, as she has posted a 15-6 record entering the 2018 AMC Tournament and has compiled 118 strikeouts while maintaining a 1.68 ERA.

Freshman Annalise Jarnagin was also recognized on the First-Team All-Conference squad after having a solid year at the plate. Jarnagin hit an impressive .350 entering Tuesday's AMC Tournament and has compiled 42 hits, 12 doubles, nine homeruns and 43 RBI.

Rounding out the All-Conference awards for Freed-Hardeman are battery mates Emily Bombard and Mallory Spurlock. Bombard transferred to FHU this season from Blue Mountain College and never missed a beat, as she compiled 30 hits and nine doubles while being the primary catcher a majority of the season.

Spurlock also had a solid 2018 season in the circle, as she compiled 151 strikeouts in 128 innings of work entering the 2018 Conference Tournament. For the season, the Florence, Ala. native has maintained a 2.24 ERA. Spurlock also found success at the plate in 2018, as she compiled five homeruns during the 2018 season, bringing her career total to eight homeruns.
