GULF SHORES, Ala. – The No. 12 Lady Lions (4-0) walked away with their second win in as many games at the Gulf Shores Invitational with a 6-5 late-inning thriller win over Thomas University (5-5) in their evening contest.

Freed-Hardeman took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning of a two-RBI single by Brittan Jarrell, but that was quickly negated by the Night Hawks when they scored two runs of their own in the top of the fourth inning.

Thomas took a brief 3-2 in the following fifth inning, but the Lady Lions jumped right back in front in the bottom half when Annalise Jarnagin scored Jarrell on a single, followed by a sacrifice fly by Lilly Bombard which scored Meagan Frye.

The Night Hawks regained the lead again in the top of the sixth with two runs of their own, but just like in the previous inning, the Lady Lions quickly answered with two more runs, this time off of a double by Kaylyn Graham, which scored both runs.

Emily Bradford got the start in the circle and went four and two-thirds innings, but it was Morgan Crawford who earned the win after going two and one-third innings, her second win of the day.

The Lady Lions will continue their time at the beach with two games on Saturday, first against Louisiana State University-Alexandria at 9 a.m., followed by a meeting with Martin Methodist at 11:30 a.m.
