Box Score

Taylor Hodges, Sports Information Director

PULASKI, Tenn. – Despite the Lady Lions (22-9, 12-6 AMC) giving up three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning in game two against Martin Methodist (17-22, 8-12 SSAC) which sent the game into extra innings, the visitors were able to open the game up in the top of the eighth with six runs, four of which came off the bat of Kaylyn Graham, who hit a grand slam in the inning.

The extra-inning win in game two led to a sweep of the Redhawks, the Lady Lions' second sweep of the former conference rival after they won 4-2 in game one.

The Lady Lions were cruising in both games with a 4-0 lead until late in the game when Martin Methodist made its comeback attempts.

In game one, the Redhawks scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but Morgan Crawford and the Lady Lions' defense were able to shut them down there and seal the win. In game two, however, the hosts were able to get one run back in the sixth inning, and then pile on three runs in the seventh to send the game into extras.

Freed-Hardeman scored two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings in game two. Annalise Jarnagin brough both run in by herself in the sixth inning when she hit a two-run home run.

In game one, Caitlin Mitchell was responsible for two of the four runs, going 1-for-1 with two RBIs as a pinch hitter. Graham had the only other RBI on a 2-for-4 game. In game two, Jarnagin and Laiken Page, who also hit a home run, each had two RBIs alongside Graham's four. Jarnagin went 2-for-3 in the contest and scored two runs.

Crawford and Emily Bradford each earned complete-game wins in the circle, with the defense playing strong behind them.

The Lady Lions will face Stephens College in a road AMC double-header on Saturday. Game one is slated for 11 a.m.
