COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Lady Lions softball team (23-10, 13-7 AMC) dominated game one against Stephens College (3-33, 1-19 AMC) 14-0 in game one of their double-header on Saturday, but feel 6-2 in game two.

In game one, the Lady Lions scored in all five innings, leading to a run rule. Five Lady Lions had home runs – Cassie Hayes, Lilly Bombard, Kaylyn Graham, Sophie Dunavant and Morgan Crawford – with Dunavant recording four RBIs in the game.

Crawford was in the circle and threw all five innings, striking out two batters and only conceding one hit.

In game two, the Stars got out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but the visitors were able to tie it up in the top of the second when Dunavant scored Annalise Jarnagin with a single.

The Stars took back the lead in the bottom of the second with two runs, and they added one more in the bottom of the third to make it a 4-1 game.

The Lady Lions were able to cut the lead in half in the top of the fourth after Crawford hit a double and then advanced to third on an error. She was brought home when Caitlin Mitchell hit an RBI double to right field.

Stephens would add two more insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth to make it a 6-2 game, and the Lady Lions were unable to make a comeback in the final two innings.

The Lady Lions will return home on Friday after nearly a week off when they take on Missouri Baptist. The double-header is scheduled for 2 p.m.
