HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Lady Lions (25-12, 15-9 AMC) were able to sweep Missouri Baptist (19-22, 11-13 AMC) with 1-0 and 2-1 wins on Saturday, clinching the No. 5 seed heading into next week's American Midwest Conference Tournament.

It was a solo shot off the bat of Kaylyn Graham in the bottom of the first inning that led the Lady Lions to the 1-0 win in game one, her 14th long ball of the season. The senior went 2-for-3 in the game, with her other hit being a single on a 16-pitch at-bat in which she fouled off 12 straight pitches before getting the infield single.

Morgan Crawford pitched lights out in the first game, going the full seven innings and earning the shutout. The Lady Lions defense was impeccable as well, not committing an error and backing up Crawford well.

In game two, the home squad went up 2-0 after scoring runs in the first and third innings.

Sophie Dunavant led the game off and hit a single towards the second baseman. After being moved to second due to a sacrifice bunt by MattiAnne Sparks, she got to third on a single from Annalise Jarnagin. Graham followed with an RBI single to give the Lady Lions the lead.

In the third inning, Lilly Bombard brought in Sparks after hitting a double to right-center field.

The Spartans would get one run back in the fourth due to an error, but the Lady Lion defense held on strong behind freshman pitcher Emily Bradford.

Bradford went the complete game, only giving up the one unearned run. She struck out three batters.

As the No. 5 seed, the Lady Lions will face off against Lyon College in the opening round of the AMC Tournament on Tuesday. The Lady Lions and Scots split in Henderson during the regular season earlier this month. The game is set for 12 noon.
