HENDERSON, Tenn. – The Lady Lions softball team (18-7, 10-4 AMC) won game two against Lyon College (26-9, 13-5 AMC) in walk-off fashion as Kaylyn Graham was able to break the tie in the bottom of the seventh inning with a monster home run to give the Lady Lions the 6-5. The Scots won game one 6-5, making the series a split.
Game two was a back-and-forth affair with runs scored in nearly every inning.
The Scots went on top first in the top of the first inning, but the Lady Lions were able to answer in the bottom half when Cassie Hayes hit a leadoff double and was moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Brittan Jarrell.
Graham followed Jarrell with a groundout that plated Hayes to tie the game.

After a scoreless third inning by both teams, Lyon was able to jump out in front by two runs after scoring three in the top of the fourth. The Lady Lions were able to get one back in the bottom half when Sophie Dunavant hit a home run to lead off the inning. Her Lady Lions still trailed 4-3.
The Lady Lions were able to keep the Scots from scoring in the top of the fifth, and they took advantage, scoring two runs to take a 5-4 lead in the bottom half of the inning.

The Scots tied the game in the top of the sixth, and were able to keep the Lady Lions from scoring in the bottom half.
In the top of the seventh, there were two outs with a Libby Shipp for Lyon player at second base. Cheyenne Herrera hit a single out to centerfield, and Shipp was waved home by her coach in an attempt to take a one-run lead heading into the bottom half of the final inning. Bombard corralled the ball and sent it home, while Shipp stumbled between the bag and the plate. Bombard's throw got to Dunavant in time, and she was able to make the tag, keeping the run off the plate and ending the inning.
Jarrell led off the bottom of the seventh by flying out to right field, and just a couple pitches later, Graham was able to end the game with one swing, giving the Lady Lions the win.
Game one was a thriller in and of itself with the Scots coming out on top.
The Lady Lions took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the second, highlighted by a grand slam from Caitlin Mitchell with one out.
Lyon was able to chip away at the large lead, scoring two runs in both the third and fifth innings to tie the game, and then two more in the sixth to take a 6-4 lead.
The Lady Lions scored one run in the bottom of the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Hayes that scored Dunavant, but the comeback fell short.
