LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Lady Lions softball team (3-1) split its double-header series against No. 19 Warner University (7-3), falling 3-2 in game one, but bouncing back with a 4-1 come-from-behind win in game two.

The Lady Lions got things started in the first game, starting with a leadoff triple by Sophie
Dunavant in the second inning, and she was brought in by Morgan Crawford.

Annalise Jarnagin added on to the FHU lead in the top of the third with a two-out solo home run, her first of the season.

The Royals stout offense bounced back, though, scoring one run in the bottom of the fourth and adding two more in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead, which they would hold on to for the rest of the contest.

In game two of the double-header, Warner got out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth. They would hold that lead until the fifth inning when Kennedy Harris blasted a two-out, three-run bomb to give the Lady Lions the late lead.

They added one more run in the top of the sixth when Dunavant reached on a leadoff single and then advanced to second base on a passed ball. She advanced to third on a Harris single and was brought in by Allie Mitchell on a sacrifice bunt.

Brittany Adair earned the complete-game win in game two, tossing eight strikeouts while only giving up two hits in the win.

The Lady Lions will continue their Florida road trip on Friday with a double-header against Southeastern University in Lakeland. Game one is set to start at 9 a.m. central standard time.
