Lady Lions drop three of four against No. 11 Campbellsville

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Lady Lions softball team (9-5, 3-3 MSC) split against No. 11 Campbellsville University (10-6, 5-1 MSC) to close out the four-game series on Saturday afternoon.

Annalise Jarnagin hit a two-run home run in the top of the fifth to take a two-run lead after the Tigers went up 1-0 in the bottom of the third.

The Lady Lions responded with another run in the top of the sixth when Caitlin Mitchell brought in Kennedy Harris to take a 3-1 lead.

Jarnagin finished the contest 3-for-3 with two RBIs and the home run. Allie Mitchell went 2-for-3 with a double, and Brittany Adair earned the win after three and two-thirds innings pitched with five strike outs.

In the final game of the series, the Lady Lions were able to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning after Cassie Hayes scored on a Catherine Crabb fielder's choice. But the Tigers were able to add two in the bottom half of the inning, with an insurance run the the bottom of the sixth, to seal the 3-1 series win.

The Lady Lions will be back in action on Friday when they host Thomas More in a four-game series. Games one and two are scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
