Box Score 2 COLUMBIA, Ky. – The No. 13 Lady Lions (27-7, 15-5 MSC) split games one and two of the four-game series with No. 2 Lindsey Wilson (31-3, 23-3 MSC) on Sunday, dropping game one 4-0 but coming on strong with a 10-8 win in game two.
After a tough offensive performance in the first contest, the Lady Lions came out hot in the second game, scoring three runs in the third inning, followed by four more in the fourth to take a 7-2 lead.
The Blue Raiders mounted a comeback, though, putting up six runs in the bottom of the fifth to take an 8-7 lead before the Lady Lions added two runs in the six and another in the seventh to go back on top and get the win.
Kennedy Harris had a monster game two with the bat, going 4-for-5 in the win with a triple in the third inning and a two-run home run in the sixth inning. Caitlin Mitchell added a long ball of her own when she hit a three-run shot in the top of the fourth inning, and Cassie Hayes hit a two-run home run in the third inning.
Brittany Adair got the start in the circle in game two, tossing 11 strikeouts in four innings pitched. Chloe Winters earned the win in three innings of relief.
The two teams will be back in action on Monday when they close out the four-game series. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 12 noon.
