Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

HENDERSON, Tenn. – The No. 13 Lady Lions (29-9, 17-7 MSC) took games one and two from Cumberland University (7-17, 5-13 MSC) on Friday, winning 1-0 in game one of the series and 5-1 in game two.

It was a pitcher's dual between Morgan Crawford and Mariah Clark in game one, with Crawford going all seven innings, punching out eight Phoenix batters in the win.

The first and only run of the contest didn't come until the bottom of the fifth inning when Allie Mitchell hit a one-out triple, scoring Annalise Jarnagin to make it 1-0.

In game two, The Lady Lions offense got things started in the second inning when Cassie Hayes hit a leadoff double, followed by a single by Jarnagin who was able to advance to second base, putting runners on second and third with no outs. A wild throw scored Hayes and Jarnagin advanced to third before being brought in by Mitchell.

The Lady Lions would go on to add one more run in the third inning when Kennedy Harris scored on a Caitlin Mitchell double, and then two more runs would cross the plate in the fourth when Brittan Jarrell was brought in by Catherine Crabb, who later crossed the plate thanks to a Sophie Dunavant single.

Brittany Adair struck out 13 batters in the complete-game win.

The Lady Lions will look to get the four-game sweep over Cumberland when the series continues on Saturday. Game three of the series is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. with a special Senior Day presentation to take place in between games.
