Orlando, FL - The No. 15 Freed-Hardeman University softball team improved to a 6-0 start today after sweeping Southeastern University by scores of 5-1 and 5-0.

Chloe Winters got the start in game one and advanced to 2-0 on the young season. Winters allowed only one hit in 7 innings pitched. Kennedy Harris got things started early for the Lady Lions, blasting a lead-off home run to give FHU the 1-0 first inning lead. The bats were hot for the Lady Lions on Saturday afternoon as they hit four balls out of the ballpark. Harris hit another home run in the fifth, and Allie Mitchell and Sophie Dunavant both hit solo bombs of their own. This was plenty of offense for Winters as the Lady Lions cruised to a 5-1 victory.

Junior Brittany Adair dominated the second game on the mound for the Lady Lions. Adair went 7 innings and only allowed 3 hits, she added 12 strikeouts as she also moves to 2-0 on the season. Caitlin Mitchell hit a huge 3-run home run in the third inning to extend the Lady Lion lead to 4-0. Kennedy Harris continued her supreme day at the plate with another home run in the fourth. 

Kennedy Harris finished the afternoon 3-6 at the plate with 3 home runs and 3 RBIs. Sophie Dunavant knocked in three and hit a home run. Harris, Dunavant, Caitlin Mitchell, and Allie Mitchell all hit home runs in the two-game sweep bringing the Lady Lion total to 6 on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Lions finished their Orlando road trip 6-0 with three shutouts. The Lady Lions outscored their opponents by a total of 26 runs to 4 in the 6 games.

FHU will be back in action on February 25^th in Columbus, Georgia to take on Brenau University in the Kickoff Classic. First pitch is slated for 3:30 PM CST.
