Box Score 1 COLUMBUS, GA — The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions (8-0) took on Brenau and Indiana Southeast Friday February 25th, away in Columbus, Georgia. They defeated both of these teams with final scores of 8-1 and 4-0 respectively.
Runs came in bunches in the first matchup of the day against Brenau as Kennedy Harris, Anna Kate Norton, and Allie Mitchell were able to knock in two a piece. Natalie Gilmore and Cassie Hayes brought in one a piece as well.
Among these eight runs was a home run by Kennedy Harris to start off the scoring in the top of the third, and the rest of the contest began after that. The Lady Lions played incredible defense behind Morgan Crawford, who pitched seven innings giving up just four hits and striking out three.
The game against Indiana Southeast had much less scoring action as the final score shows. Runs were brought in by Catherine Crabb, Sophie Dunavant, Cassie Hayes, and Anna Kate Norton, and the Lady Lions again were able to hold their opponent behind Chloe Winters. Winters pitched seven innings giving up just five hits but no runs woth six strikeouts.
The Lady Lions take on Taylor and Bryan today in GA as they hope to continue their winning streak of 8-0 so far in the season.
