Box Score GEORGETOWN, Ky. The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lion softball team kicked off a weekend series with Mid-South Conference foe Georgetown with a 7-1 victory on Saturday.
Reigning MSC Pitcher of the Week Morgan Crawford got the start in the circle for the Lady Lions. Crawford followed up her no hitter from Tuesday and threw 6 innings as she picked up another win to move her record to 8-0 on the season. Crawford also broke the scoring open in the third inning with a two-run home run to plate Sophie Dunavant. Annalise Jarnigan hit a big 2-out, 2-RBI double in the fifth inning to put the Lady Lions ahead by a score of 4-0. Dunavant went 3-4 in the first game of this series and knocked in two RBIs. The Lady Lions sent Chloe Winters out to collect the save and she succeeded without allowing a hit in the seventh. Morgan Crawford finished 2-3 at the plate with 3 RBIs in the Lady Lions 7-1 victory.
The second game of the doubleheader was canceled due to weather. The Lady Lions are back in action on Sunday at 11:00 and 1:00.
