LEBANON, TN — The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions completed a four-game sweep of Cumberland University on the weekend of March 25-26. After gaining the #3 NAIA National Rank, the Lady Lions have reached a 27-1 record on the season.

In their first game of the day, the Lady Lions Brittany Adair was able to hold the Phoenix to just one run while striking out 17. The team was able to string together hit after hit scoring 6 runs without a ball leaving the park. The team's offensive attack was led by Caitlin Mitchell as she had two hits in the contest.

The second game of the day got off to a slow start. The Lady Lions usual onslaught of offense began in the sixth inning and carried them to seven runs in just two innings. They turned a 2-0 deficit into a 7-2 victory in the blink of an eye on the back of Allie Mitchell and Sophie Dunavant home runs. Additionally, Caitlin Mitchell and Anna Kate Norton both went 3 for 4 from the plate in the contest. The game was held within reach by Emily Bradford and Morgan Crawford in a joint effort giving up just six hits as a duo.

The four win weekend featured seven home runs now giving FHU a total of 31 on the season. The Lady Lions outscored their opponents 26-6 on the weekend.

They will return home for a one day rest before they begin a home series against Shawnee State. The Lady Lions will play Monday at 2:00 and 4:00 PM and Tuesday at 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
