HENDERSON, TN — The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions took three of four against Shawnee State University Bears on the weekend of March 28-29. FHU now maintains a record of 30-2.

The first game of the day saw early offense from the Lady Lions as they began scoring in the first via a string of hits from the top of the lineup. With a 2-0 lead after the first inning, Chloe Winters was able to gain the complete game shutout, surrendering just one hit, on top of, the FHU staple, high-power offense. The combination of these two was more than enough to give the Lady Lions a 6-0 victory.  Additionally, Kennedy Harris was a consistent force on the basepath, as she was able to steal three bases, and come around to score twice.

The second game featured Brittany Adair in the circle making a second start of the series, and pitching a complete game, without an earned run, and 11 strikeouts. Offense began early, as Catherine Crabb poked a single past the second baseman scoring Kennedy Harris in the bottom of the first inning. This aforementioned offense continued throughout the contest, as Catherine Crabb, Sophie Dunavant, and Caitlin Mitchell all collected multiple hits. Anna Kate Norton attributed two RBIs in the matchup as well. The Lady Lions ultimately gained the 6-1 victory to close out the early week series.

The Lady Lions will be taking on Lindsey Wilson at home this upcoming weekend of April 1-2. Friday FHU will play at 3:00 and 5:00, and on Saturday at 1:00 and 3:00.
