CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — In the series finale, the (RV) Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions came up short to the Campbellsville Tigers, 5-4, with two of FHU's runs coming from a homer from
Grayson Mayo.
The Lady Lions (13-14, 7-5 MSC) and the Tigers traded home runs in the series finale, with seven of the combined nine runs coming off of big flies. FHU had a solo homer in the sixth inning from
Myleah Hardy to tie the game 4-4.
Campbellsville (17-13, 5-4 MSC) had a pair of two-run home runs, but it was an RBI single in the sixth that gave the Tigers the victory.
Lynnlee Brown led off the top of the seventh with a double, hoping to tie the game, but was thrown out for the final out of the weekend.
The Lady Lions had seven hits all from different batters with
Myleah Hardy and
Grayson Mayo each hitting homers in the loss.
Katy Gartrell (4-5) tossed all six innings, striking out four Tigers in the process.
