CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The No. 15 Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions (13-0, 2-0) remain undefeated on the season following a pair of victories over Thomas More (2-6, 2-4) on Friday afternoon.

Morgan Crawford continued her hot start to the season in the first game of the doubleheader, pitching her third complete game victory on the young season. Crawford finished the day sitting down 8 of the Lady Saints on strikes and only allowing 4 hits. Familiar names in the Lady Lion order continued to be hot at the plate. Kennedy Harris continued her scorching start, homering in the first at bat of the game to put the Lady Lions up 1-0 early. Sophie Dunavant homered in the third inning to extend the Lady Lion lead to 2-0. The following inning Anna Kate Norton hit a huge two-run home run and then followed it up with an RBI double in her next at bat. Cassie Hayes scored two runs in the Lady Lions 5-1 victory in game 1.

The second game of the day was an absolute thriller and involved a lot more offense. Reigning MSC Pitcher of the Week Brittany Adair started the game on the mound without her best stuff. The Freed-Hardeman lineup had her back. The Lady Lions had three home runs, all from different batters than the first game, Caitlin Mitchell, Allie Mitchell, and Morgan Crawford all went yard in game 2. Crawford's home run came off the bench as a pinch-hitter in the top of the seventh with the game tied 7-7. After the first two runners reached in the bottom of the seventh, Coach Todd Humphry called upon star pitcher Chloe Winters to get the Lady Lions out of the jam and remain undefeated on the season. Winters answered the call sitting down the first two Lady Saints on strikes and ending the game with a dribbler to first base to preserve the Lady Lions win streak and complete the save. Cassie Hayes and Kennedy Harris both finished 3 for 4 at the plate in the Lady Lions 8-7 victory

The Lady Lions will be back in action tomorrow with two more games against Thomas More. The games are slated to begin at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM CST.
