Box Score 2 CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY – The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions (15-0) picked up another two wins in Kentucky against Thomas More University to cap off a strong weekend going 4-0. The Lady Lions were all over the ball as they crushed a total of 10 home runs, and scored 40 runs in their games on March 4th and 5th.
The Lady Lions picked up their first win in Crestview Hills by outscoring the Saints 8-2. This game was a true offensive explosion on the backs of Sophie Dunavant and Caitlin Mitchell's home runs. Catherine Crabb was also able to add another two RBIs to the mix, and one more from Kennedy Harris. This was all accompanied by a true shift on the mound by Chloe Winters who gave up just seven hits. Emily Bradford came in to close out the contest on the mound in the final inning, securing the victory.
In their second game of the day they were able to amass their largest run total of the season with 19. This lead was driven by Kennedy Harris, who had a grand slam in the second inning, and a three-run home run in the fifth. Anna Kate Norton (3), Catherine Crabb (2), Cassie Hayes (2), Caitlin Mitchell (2), Sophie Dunavant (2) all collected multiple RBIs in the onslaught as well. Assisting this offensive explosion was a joint effort on the mound of Morgan Crawford, and Chloe Winters. The Lady Lions were able to best the Saints by a final score of 19-8.
The Lady Lions continue their perfect start to the season as they gain win after win. They appear to be strong on the mound, and at the plate as they have outscored their opponents 93 to 26. The Lady Lions season will continue at home against Pikeville this upcoming weekend of March 11th and 12th.
