HENDERSON, Tn. - The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions hosted Lindsey Wilson for the first two of four games of the weekend on Friday afternoon. The Lady Lions swept the doubleheader by scores of 3-0 and 11-2.

Junior standout Brittany Adair got the start in the circle for the Lady Lions in game one of the four game set. Adair and the Lady Lions were stuck in a pitching duel for the majority of the game with the score knotted at 0-0 up until the bottom of the sixth. Caitlin Mitchell broke the scoring open with an RBI single up the middle plating Catherine Crabb from second. Annalise Jarnagin was dialed in at the plate and added some insurance in the sixth with a 2-RBI triple off the right field fence to score Sophie Dunavant and Natalie Gilmore. Adair closed the door in the seventh to finish off the 3-0 win for the Lady Lions. Adair finished her complete game shutout tallying 10 strikeouts and only two base hits. 

The Lady Lions' offense picked up where they left off from the end of the first game, scoring 6 runs in the first inning. The first seven Lady Lions reached base to begin the game. Anna Kate Norton brought in the last two runs of the inning with a 2-RBI shot to left field to make the game 6-0 headed into the second. FHU would add three more runs in the second off of an Annalise Jarnagin 2-RBI single and an Anna Kate Norton solo home run to deep left center. The offense slowed down until a Kennedy Harris 2-run home run ended the game in the sixth by the final score of 11-2. Chloe Winters was in the circle for the entirety of the game as she kept the Blue Raiders in check all night. Winters finished the game with 7 strikeouts. Sophie Dunavant, Caitlin Mitchell, and Cassie Hayes all drove in runs in the contest. Mitchell finished 3 for 3 from the plate. Freshman Madelyn Crabb made an impact off the bench scoring two runs and knocking an opposite field double in her only at bat.

The Lady Lions will continue the series against Lindsey Wilson on Saturday. The games are slated to begin at 1:00 and 3:00 PM.
