Box Score 2 HENDERSON, TN — The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions take both games on a Easter weekend Friday over Tennessee Southern University. The Lady Lions advance to 37-3 on the season.
The first game of the day started off slow as there were no runs from FHU in the first inning, but then came the onslaught in the second as there were seven runs scored, then five in the third, and another eight in the fourth for a total of 19 runs in the contest. Morgan Crawford was able to hold off the attack from the Firehawks as she allowed just three runs on the day while dominating from the circle and at the plate. Catherine Crabb, Kennedy Harris, Allie Mitchell, Sophie Dunavant, Anna Kate Norton, and Morgan Crawford all collected RBIs in the contest.
The second game featured Chloe Winters in the circle, pitching a complete game, with just one run. Offense was harder to come by in this game, as the Lady Lions scored three against a tough Firehawk pitching performance. During the contest, Kennedy Harris was able to break her own record for stolen bases in a season, and set the record for stolen bases in a career at FHU.
The Lady Lions will be continuing the weekend series with Senior Day festivities taking place tomorrow at home, April 16. FHU will play at 2:00 and 4:00, as they look to finish the season strong heading into postseason play.
