Box Score 2 HENDERSON Tn.- The Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions hosted the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders for the conclusion of their weekend series on Saturday. The Lady Lions split the pair by scores of 2-4 and 8-0. FHU took three of four from the Blue Raiders in the series.
The first game of the day was tight throughout. Catherine Crabb broke the 0-0 tie in the bottom of the third with a 2-out, 2-RBI double off the center field wall that brought in Brittan Jarrell and Kennedy Harris to put the Lady Lions ahead 2-0. Morgan Crawford pitched an efficient game in the circle finishing 5 innings and only allowing two runs on two hits. Unfortunately, the Blue Raiders were able to knock out two long balls to hand the Lady Lions their only loss of the weekend by a score of 4-2.
Brittney Adair finished out the series strong in the circle for the Lady Lions in Game 2. The offense had her back and got the scoring started early. The Lady Lions put up four runs in the bottom of the first, including an Annalise Jarnagin 2-RBI single to finish out the inning. Caitlin Mitchell added a 2-run opposite field home run in the second inning to extend the FHU lead to 6-0. Catherine Crabb and Sophie Dunavant added RBIs in the third to make the game 8-0. Adair was dominant on the mound, throwing a no-hitter in her complete game shutout. Adair sat down five on strikes and extended her record to 10 wins and no losses on the season. Catherine Crabb was 2-2 in the ball game scoring 2 runs and knocking in an RBI.
The Lady Lions will not be back in action until next Friday, April 8th for a non-conference matchup with Lyon College. The games are set to begin at 2:00 and 4:00 in Batesville, Arkansas.
