WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — Playing in a doubleheader the (RV) Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions fell to the No. 7 University of the Cumberlands Patriots 5-2 in the first game of the day before falling 8-0 in five innings to close the series.

With a new lineup, the Lady Lions (5-8, 0-2 MSC) saw Gracie Wilson lead off the game with a single, eventually settling on third after back-to-back groundouts but could not score. After the Patriots plated a run in their half of the first inning, Christa Warren led off the third inning with a single before Karli Quillin hit a bases-loaded sacrifice fly to score Warren and knot the game.

Cumberlands (15-6, 0-2 MSC) then took off to score one in the third, two in the fourth, and one in the sixth. A Warren sacrifice fly drove in FHU's last run in the loss.

The Lady Lions had five hits, led by Christa Warren's 2-3 day at the dish.

Anna Rogers (0-3) had the start where she split three complete innings with Katy Gartrell.

Karli Quillin got a two-out single for the first Lady Lion (5-9, 0-3 MSC) base hit with Christa Warren joining in the top of the third with a single.

The Patriots (16-6, 3-0 MSC) scored more as the day went off before a five-run fourth inning pushed them to the win.

Three Lady Lions connected for one hit each.

Kylee Brown (4-5) recorded the loss with three strikeouts
