HENDERSON — Kylee Brown was nearly untouchable in Saturday's run-rule victory over the Cumberland Phoenix. The senior surrendered just one hit in the 10-0 shutout victory in five innings.
The Lady Lions (10-10, 5-4 MSC) got the scoring started early in the contest with
Myleah Hardy's two-run blast exiting the deepest part of Tucker Field to help FHU plate four runs in the bottom of the first.
After trading two scoreless innings, FHU began to jump all over the Cumberland (11-16, 2-4 MSC) pitcher, connecting for five hits where they plated six runs to help them earn the run-rule victory.
Kiersten Mesler and
Karli Quillin each had two hits in the victory while
Myleah Hardy's three RBI made the the top run-producer ahead of Mesler's two RBI.
Kylee Brown (7-6) got the shutout victory where she struck out four batters while surrendering no walks. The lone hit came in the top of the fourth before shutting down the final six Phoenix batters.

As the rain began to fall the scoreboard began to light up for the Lady Lions.
Gracie Wilson led off with a single before scoring on Quillin's double. Mesler followed with a double of her own to score Quillin. Back-to-back walks loaded the bases for
Lana Rowland and
Briley Wigginton to tally back-to-back singles to move the carousel.
Christa Warren drew a bases-loaded walk before Wilson batted around with a sacrifice fly to plate Rowland to end the six-run inning.
