GREENVILLE, Ky. — The Lady Lions of Freed-Hardeman University battled back to score four runs in the top of the seventh but fell short to the Lindsey Wilson College Blue Raiders 5-4 in the first game before bouncing back win a nine-inning victory 2-1 in the second game.

In the first inning the Lady Lions (10-11, 5-5 MSC) were off to a good start with Karli Quillin drawing a leadoff walk before and error and Brinley Cousar's two-out walk loaded the bases but LWC recorded the final out.

To keep the momentum on their side the Blue Raiders (16-15, 3-4 MSC) drew a leadoff walk before a two-run homer gave LWC an early lead.

The Lady Lions were held scoreless until the top of the seventh when Chloe Carter placed a single down the left-field line to plate Lana Rowland before Myleah Hardy unloaded on a three-run blast to pull FHU within one but could not score the tying run.

Chloe Carter and Myleah Hardy led FHU with two hits each.

Kylee Brown (7-7) was charged with the losswith one strikeout

The Lady Lions (11-11, 6-5 MSC) and the Blue Raiders had no trouble putting bat on ball with the Mid-South Conference foes combining for 17 hits while scoring just two runs.

Myleah Hardy gave the Lady Lions the lead over Lindsey Wilson (16-16, 3-4 MSC) with an RBI single in the third before the Blue Raiders tied the game in the fifth. Hardy answered the call in the top of the ninth inning with a solo blast to give FHU the lead and the win.

The Lady Lions recorded seven hits with Chloe Carter and Myleah Hardy each tallying two.

Katy Gartrell (2-1) punched out six Blue Raiders in the complete-game victory.
