HENDERSON — With the postseason looming the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions improved their resume with a 5-1 victory over the (RV) Campbellsville University Tigers to complete the weekend sweep.
The Lady Lions (18-13, 12-6 MSC) did a great job of escaping danger after the Tigers ptu two runners on base with one out, but worked out of danger to keep CU off the scoreboard. FHU took advantage of an error in the home half of the first to take an early lead.
FHU expanded their lead over Campbellsville (23-14, 7-8 MSC) with
Kiersten Mesler smacking her season's first home run to drive in two runs and make it a 3-0 game.
Karli Quillin would later drive two more runs home with a triple to secure the 5-1 victory.
Lana Rowland and
Gracie Wilson each had two hits in the victory while Quillin and Mesler each drove in two with their one hits.
Kylee Brown (12-9) went the distance for FHU with one run crossing and that one run being unearned.

The Lady Lions have wrapped up Mid-South Conference play with a 12-6 record to hold sole possession of second place. They will have one more regular season contest with a visit to Central Baptist (Ark.) College on April 24.
