WALESKA, Ga. — After 36 holes the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lion golf team sits in second place after an astonishing 16-stroke improvement between rounds one and two. In the first round FHU tallied 326 (+42) before dropping down to 310 (+26) in the second round for a day's total of 636 (+68).
Zoe Phillips led FHU's women by finishing in fourth place with an aggregate 151 (+9). In the first round, she carded 10 pars to score 79 (+8). She then trimmed off seven strokes in the second round highlighted by back-to-back birdies on the par-3 and par-4 eighth and ninth holes. Also scoring birdie on the par-4 fourth, her second round had her shoot 72 (+1).
Hannah Ruth Walton had the biggest turnaround of the day, turning an 82 (+11) in the first round to a 72 (+1) in the second round. In the first she dropped one birdie before carding two in the second round. Her two-round total of 154 (+12) landed her in fifth place.
Newcomer
Aaricia Noel-Traissac had a birdie on the par-5 12h hole in a first round where she shot 82 (+11) before collecting a pair of par-4 birdies in the second round to score 81 (+10) where she totaled 163 (+21) to earn a share of 13th place.
In 18th place
Ansley Pratt carded a birdie on the par-4 fourth in her first round to score 83 (+12). Adding that to her second round score of 85 (+14) she will enter the final round with 168 (+26).
Jadyn Thompson ended the afternoon for FHU with a first-round 90 (+19) before scoring 92 (+21) in the second round. Finishing her day in 23rd place she sits with a score of 182 (+40).
