HENDERSON — Beginning the 2026 campaign at home, the (RV) Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lion softball program swept the Central Baptist (Ark.) College Mustangs. After a narrow 7-4 victory in game one,
Myleah Hardy walked off game two for an 8-4 victory.

In the day's first game, the Lady Lions (1-0) came back from a deficit after the visiting Mustangs put three runs on the board in the top of the fourth after three scoreless innings.
Hannah Jones of the Lady Lions would earn her first collegiate hit with a homer to put the Lady Lions on the board.
It was not until the fifth inning that FHU flipped the lead over Central Baptist (3-8). After a pair of early runners,
Myleah Hardy fired a missile over the wall in center field to knot the game at four. FHU then had three consecutive singles to drive in two more runs.
Lynnlee Brown's double added another insurance run to push the lead to its final total, 7-4.
Annalee Qualls had the hot bat, leading all hitters with three base knocks. Four other Lady Lions connected for two hits with FHU hitting 14 as a team.
Hannah Jones (1-0) get the opening day victory, striking out six batters across seven innings.

Chloe Carter singled,
Myleah Hardy smacked a three-run blast to the deepest part of Tucker Field to tie the game at four. With a new pitcher in the circle, Jones connected for a double, followed by three straight singles, with
Annalee Qualls and Lulu White each driving home a run.

FHU took advantage of a throwing error by the Mustangs to add an insurance run when Lynlee Brown doubled down the line in left to drive in
Kaylea Howell.

In game two, FHU (2-0) took an early lead before a furious comeback from the guests forced FHU to play their half of the seventh inning.
Myleah Hardy had a homer in the first inning to drive two in to take the lead.
Central Baptist (3-9) battled back late in the game to pull within two runs in the fifth inning before tying things up in the top of the seventh. Hardy decided to send everybody home with a walkoff blast..
Four different Lady Lions had multiple base hits with
Chloe Carter,
Myleah Hardy, Reagan Lock, and
Christa Warren each collecting two hits.
Katy Gartrell had the start where she tossed four innings where he struck out four batters before giving way to
Anna Rogers (1-0) who got the win after three innings of relief.

The third trip through the order was kind to the Mustangs who opened the frame with a single and a walk. CBC then connected for an RBI double and a two-run single to cut into the FHU lead.

Central Baptist had other ideas when they opened the inning with a leadoff double. A wild pitch later allowed a single to drive in a run. An error allowed a run to cross before an RBI single tied the game late.

Carter and Hardy were ready to call "ballgame" when the former smashed a double before the former connected for her third home run of the day, this time in walkoff fashion to secure the opening series sweep.
