LEBANON, Tenn. — After falling on Friday, the (RV) Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions took the series with a pair of doubleheader victories over the (RV) Cumberland University Phoenix. FHU took the first game, 2-0, before winning in a shootout, 10-7.

The Lady Lions (6-9, 1-1 MSC) were locked in at the plate, connecting for 10 hits in the victory including the solo homer from
Myleah Hardy.
Cumberland (6-10, 1-1 MSC) struggled at the plate in the first game of the day, only finishing with three base hits.
FHU had two-hit games from
Lynnlee Brown,
Myleah Hardy, and
Reagan Locke in the victory.
Katy Gartrell (2-3) was nearly untouchable, striking out 13 Phoenix batters in the shutout win.

Both the Lady Lions (7-9, 2-1 MSC) and the Phoenix had no trouble putting the bat on the ball, combining for 18 hits and 17 runs in the second game.Â
Freed-Hardeman took a big lead over the Phoenix (6-11, 1-2 MSC) with a seven-run fourth inning including two-run doubles from
Myleah Hardy and
Hannah Jones.
Karli Quillin drove in two runs with three hits in the victory while
Myleah Hardy's two hits drove in two runs.
Hannah Jones (4-2) completed the game in the circle to get the victory with one strikeout.
