HENDERSON — The Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions celebrated seven graduating seniors before battling the No. 11 Lindsey Wilson University Blue Raiders. FHU held a lead until a two-run homer in the top of the seventh inning gave the guests the victory.
The seniors did the heavy lifting with
Karli Quillin's double setting up
Myleah Hardy to smack a two-run blast to give the Lady Lions (17-19, 7-8 MSC) the first lead. A set of runs crossed for Lindsey Wilson before Quillin struck again with an RBI double in the second.
Lindsey Wilson (36-5, 13-3 MSC) hit a solo homer in the third inning to tie the game at three runs apiece.
Alivia Eggleston broke the tie with a solo blast of her own in the fifth. A scoreless sixth was followed by a single and a two-run homer for the visitors to conclude FHU's home season in defeat.
Karli Quillin led FHU with three base hits, while
Alivia Eggleston,
Reagan Locke, and
Lana Rowland each tallied two hits.
Katy Gartrell (6-9) tossed all seven innings.
