Myleah Hardy leads Lady Lions to win twice over Tigers

GEORGETOWN, Ky. — In the final series of the regular season, the Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lions won a pair of low-scoring games thanks to the heroics of Myleah Hardy. Her homer in the first game proved to be the game-winner in a 1-0 victory before she blasted two big flies in the second game to lead HFU to a 3-2 win.

Game 1
Freed-Hardeman - 1
Georgetown - 0

The Lady Lions (18-19, 8-8 MSC) and the Tigers had a pitchers' duel with four combined base hits. In the first game, Myleah Hardy had a two-out double in the first inning before Karli Quillin's walk in the top of the third was FHU's next base runner.

The best opportunity for the Tigers (17-18, 6-10 MSC) came in the bottom of the third when a pair of walks helped put two runners into scoring position, but FHU's Katy Gartrell got the strikeout to leave the runners stranded. Hardy's big fly in the seventh inning gave FHU the lead they would hold onto to get the victory.

Myleah Hardy had both of FHU's base hits, including the game-winning homer.

Katy Gartrell (7-9) got the victory in complete-game fashion where she struck out seven Tigers.
