GEORGETOWN, Ky. — The Freed-Hardeman University Lady Lion softball team ended the regular season in style, run-ruling the Georgetown College Tigers, 9-0, in five innings. Nearly half of those came from the bat of
Hannah Jones, who drove in four runs on three hits.
The Lady Lions (20-19, 10-8 MSC) plated runs in all five innings beginning with Lana Roland singling home
Chloe Carter in the first inning.
Hannah Jones launched homers in back-to-back at-bats, with a solo shot in the second innings being followed by a two-run knock in the third.
Georgetown's (17-20, 6-12 MSC) best opportunity came in the bottom half of the fourth inning when a pair of singles and a walk loaded the bases, but the Lady Lions retired the side without surrendering a run.
Lana Rowland was a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate while driving in two runs, while
Hannah Jones was 3-for-3 with four RBI.
Chloe Carter and
Karli Quillin wrapped the regular season with two base hits each.
In addition to her stellar offense,
Hannah Jones (7-3) earned a victory in the circle with a complete-game shutout where she struck out five Tigers.
