BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — A day before the Mid-South Conference tournament is set to begin,
Myleah Hardy has a little extra to celebrate as she was voted to be the MSC Player of the Year. She joins
Alivia Eggleston,
Lana Rowland, and
Karli Quillin on the first time, while
Chloe Carter made the second team. In addition to Carter,
Christa Warren earned the Gold Glove at third base.
Hardy's year was one to remember, with the senior breaking Freed-Hardeman University's career home run record in one swing of the bat, while breaking the single-season mark on her very next swing. Hardy ended the season with 18 home runs while driving in 49 runs. She hit .360 from the dish with 45 base hits.
Eggleston led the Lady Lions' batting average race with a .433 average. Of her 29 hits, seven went for extra bases, while she drove in 22 runs.
Rowland picked up a nod for the first team after a standout sophomore campaign where she hit .389 with 37 base hits. She drove in 43 runners while stealing two bases.Â
Quillin picked right back up where she left off by hitting .422 in her swansong, tallying a team-high 54 base hits while driving in 14 runs.
Carter was voted to the second team after a season that saw her hit .380 from the plate while leading FHU with 129 at-bats.
The conference selects a Gold Glove team based on fielding percentage and number of total chances. With a .984 fielding percentage with 62 opportunities, Carter received one of the outfield gloves, while
Christa Warren received a Gold Glove at third base after a season with a .958 fielding percentage with 118 chances.
