Trio signs to join FHU golf

HENDERSON — With the fall half of his season in the book, Coach Randall Rhodes continues to add to the future of FHU golf with three signings. Siegel High School's Maizie Bailey and Summit High School's Camryn Porior join the Lady Lions while Maryville's Leo Huddleston will join as a Lion.

Maizie Bailey, a Murfreesboro native, owns Siegel High School's record for lowest individual 18-hole round by finishing with a career-low 69 in 2024. Her lowest nine-hole score was set in 2025 at 33. Named a top TSSAA golfer by the Tennessean and the Daily News Journal, Bailey earned a trip to the 2025 state tournament.

She has competed on the Mid-South Junior Golf Tour, the Sneds Junior Golf Tour, U.S. Kids Golf Tour, and the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls Golf Tour, winning the U.S. Kids Golf Tour Championship twice, the Pine Creek Open twice, and having multiple top-five and top-ten performances. She also qualified for regional Notah Begay tournaments the last two years.

The new Lady Lion said, "I am looking forward to contributing to the Lady Lions' golf team and continuing to develop my game and grow spiritually at Freed-Hardeman. I am excited about playing for Coach Rhodes and with the current team and the team he is building. I felt at home when visiting the school for the first time, and I am excited about starting my academic and athletic career at FHU."

"We're very excited that Maizie will be a Lady Lion," said Coach Rhodes. "Her positivity, confidence, and desire to continue growing are all strengths that will make her a great teammate and will make our team better. We're looking forward to Maizie's future successes and the impact she will have on FHU Golf."

Hailing from Thompson's Station, Camryn Porior was the low score medalist at the 2025 Sneds Tournament Sevierville Open with a two-round 157. In her senior year, she consistently finished in the top 15 with a fifth-place finish in the district tournament before a fourth-place finish in the regional competition. A two-round 155 led her to finish the state tournament in 11th place.

Porier said, "I am so excited to be a Lady Lion!  FHU feels like a home away from home. I can't wait to be on the course with my new teammates and make lifelong friendships!"

Remarking on his new golfer, Coach Rhodes said, "Camryn is an impressive person and player. Her desire to grow is evident in the commitment she has made to play college golf. Her focus and ability to stay calm under pressure are strengths that will make her a great college player. We're excited for her to help us achieve our goals and to celebrate the successes she will have in the future."

Continually turning in low scores, Leo Huddleston's share of seventh place in the 2025 TSSAA D-1AA State Championships was the highest finish in Maryville High School history. For two consecutive years at the 5Star Preps Masters, Huddleston finished seven under par. In 2024 it was good enough to win the championship while the 2025 edition concluded in a runner-up finish after a playoff.

He has two top-five finishes at Sneds Elite events while winning 74 junior tournament titles. In 2025, he was named to the All-PrepXtra First Team.

"I'm really excited to be at Freed-Hardeman next fall," said Huddleston. "The people at the school made the college decision very easy for me. I am extremely thankful to Coach Rhodes for giving me this opportunity."

"Leo is a very accomplished player and we're excited to have him join our program," Coach Rhodes said. "He truly loves the game, possesses a strong work ethic, and is a positive influence to those that are around him. We expect Leo to continue pushing FHU Golf in a positive direction."
