COLUMBIA, Tenn. — The course record for Pillow Springs Golf Course was set at 66 (-6) by Jay Coleman. Now that stellar play has inked to join Freed-Hardeman University Lion golf.
Competing for the Columbia Academy Bulldogs, Coleman finished third in the 2025 TSSAA District Tournament after carding a 70 (-2) and being selected to the TSSAA All-Area Golf Team. Across his years as a prep golfer, Coleman has brought home a staggering 17 medals while serving as CA's team captain his junior and senior years. From 8th-12th grades he was given the "Low Dawg" award, presented to the golfer with the lowest scoring average. He is a two-time Notah Began Regional Qualifier.
Coleman said, "I am very excited about my opportunity to attend school and play golf at Freed-Hardeman University! The people that we surround ourselves with have huge impacts on our lives, and I'm excited and very thankful for the blessing of being able to surround myself with people at FHU that will push me to be a better person each day on and off the golf course. I'm excited for the opportunity to grow spiritually, academically, and athletically alongside my classmates and teammates at Freed-Hardeman."
