DICKSON, Tenn. — The autumn rain kept the Freed-Hardeman University Lion golfers from playing a complete round on Monday and only allowed for two rounds to be completed on Tuesday. In 36 holes the Lions shot 584 (+8) to earn a share of 13th place at the Music City Collegiate.
Drew Massengale had a fantastic round to open the tournament by carding four birdies and finishing over par on just one hole. His 69 (-3) in the first round was followed by an even par round where he again sank four birdies including a pair of par-5 holes. His 72 (E) in the second round added to a 141 (-3) tournament to land in a tie for 13th place.
Lane Walton's round was not far off of Massengale's, with Walton's round accentuated by an eagle on the par-5 12th hole. Combining his other three birdies, Walton shot 82 (+1) in the first round. The freshman had an even better second round, with four birdies helping him shoot 70 (-2) to aggregate 143 (-1) and tie for 24th place.
With a team-high five birdies in the first round,
Gabe Webb scored 74 (+2) to help his team. On the second time around, he had four birdies to card 75 (+3) to land in a tie for 61st place with a two-round 149 (+5).
It was a tale of two rounds for
Ben Sebilian with the senior carding an 80 (+8) in the first round where he earned par 11 times but never finished under. That changed in the second round when he started on the par-5 ninth hole which he promptly carded a birdie on. three more birdies later, his round finished at 71 (-1). The improvement helped him score 151 (+7) and tie for 72nd place.
Lucas Gupton registered a birdie on the par-5 ninth hole in his first round to card 85 (+13). Gupton also had a big turnaround by shaving off nine strokes and collecting three birdies in the second round. With a second-round 76 (+4), Gupton ended in 97th place with a two-round 161 (+17).
As an individual,
Eli Kibbe had two birdies in the first round to help him to 79 (+9) while a birdie on the par-5 12th hole helped him shoot 75 (+3) to aggregate 154 (+10) and finish in a tie for 83rd.
