HENDERSON — The Freed-Hardeman University Lion golf teams hosted the 2025 Subway FHU Fall Invitational on September 29-30. The men shaved seven strokes from their first-round 297 (+9) to a 290 (+2) second-round score. Combining for 587 (+11), the Lions finished in second place.
Lane Walton led FHU's golfers, carding even par across both rounds. In the first round he scored two birdies while collecting three in the second. His 144 (E) gave him a share of third place.
Lucas Gupton had the biggest turnaround of the tournament, turning his 78 (+6) first round into a 68 (-4) to skyrocket up the leaderboard 24 places to tie for sixth with 146 (+2). In the first round the highlight was his eagle on the par-5 13th hole with a birdie on the par-3 eighth. On the second day, he was even-keeled by carding just one bogey while mastering the par-3 holes by finishing with birdies on all four.
With a two-round 148 (+4)
Ben Sebilian finished in a tie for eighth place. On the first day, three birdies helped him score 73 (+1) before a two-birdie second round led him to a 75 (+3) score.
Ending with a share of 12th place scoring 149 (+5)
Drew Massengale carded two birdies in each round to score 74 (+2) and 75 (+3).
In
Gabe Webb's lone round of the tournament, he sank four birdies in the second roundto help him to a 75 (+3).
