SNEAD, Ala. — Freed-Hardeman University men's golf has added a proven winner with the signing of Jayce Hutchens.

A transfer from Calhoun (Ala.) Community College, Hutchens helped lead the Warhawks to three tournament wins with six top-three finishes. Individually, Hutchens' 72.6 average led him to five top-10 finishes during the 2025-26 campaign. Ending seven rounds under par, he was selected to the Alabama Community College Conference All-Conference team.

"The people, culture, and values at Freed-Hardeman made it stand out to me, and I'm looking forward to getting on campus, building relationships, and getting to work."

Speaking on his new charge, Coach Randall Rhodes said, "We're excited that Jayce has decided to continue his education and college career at Freed-Hardeman. He is an incredible person and a player who strives to compete at the highest level. He brings a wealth of college level experience and a work ethic that will be a huge benefit to our program."
